The London Communities Football League has been two years in gestation. Teams currently playing in the league graduated through the All Nations Football Festival one day tournaments and Summer Leagues. Previously they were groups of unaffiliated casual footballers playing ‘jumpers for goalpost football’. Now as a result of Football Foundation and Home Office funding and a raft of training and education courses there are sixteen affiliated football clubs.

The League Management Committee comprises individuals from groups working in partnership with LPFF, such as Leyton Orient CSP, and from teams paticipating in the league.

The League has been established for four seasons during which time 46 teams have successfully completed their fixtures. Although some of these teams are still dependent on the support provided by the league other teams have made the progression into mainstream affiliated leagues. The intention is to encourage the league to become self-governing therefore the League Committee currently comprises a Vice Chair, Referee Co-ordinator and Player Representatives drawn

from club members.
