Coping Through Football on Colourful Radio
Coping on Colourful Radio
On Wednesday 24th June Alex Welsh and Jason Kelvin (a Coping Through Football participant) were interviewed by Rosemary Laryea on Colourful Radio.
During that week Rosemary featured interviews with all the projects that had been nominated for the London Legacy Award with a view to encouraging listeners to vote for their favourite project.
Alex Welsh talked about the concept for the Coping Through Football project and how it started. He spoke about what the project has achieved so far and the Foundation’s aim of getting the project mainstreamed into mental health services across London. We then heard from one of the service users, Jason Kelvin, who gave a very frank and heartening account of his mental health illness and how he overcame his personal demons with the help of Coping Through Football.
The interview went very well and we are extremely grateful to Colourful Radio for allowing us the opportunity to showcase the Coping Through Football project.
Colourful Radio broadcasts on DAB, Sky and the internet. It provides a rich mix of intelligent speech and cross-cultural music, and our programs offer everything from current affairs and journalism to phone-ins and debates on topical issues.
