Coping Through Football at Stamford Bridge

Coping Through Football participants enjoyed a day to remember on Monday 1st June competing in the Stamford Bridge cup at Chelsea FC. The event at Stamford Bridge organised by Square Mile magazine marked the pinnacle of a great year for the Coping Through Football project and gave service users the once in a lifetime opportunity to play on a Premier League pitch.
The Coping Through Football team comprised service users and health professionals involved in the project. Matt Howard-Jones, Project Co-ordinator, said “it was dream come true for everyone concerned and a brilliant way of raising confidence and self esteem.” Alex Welsh, CEO LPFF, said “we are very grateful for the opportunity provided by Square Mile to showcase this fantastic project that clearly demonstrates how regular physical activity can improve mental health”.
