Boston Manor Gets a Lick of Paint
Boston Manor receives some TLC
On the 18th of September the National Children’s Bureau’s fundraising team along with nine enthusiastic volunteers from Turner Broadcasting visited Boston Manor to paint the pavilion.
Paul Baker had been contacted by NCB who, along with Turner Broadcasting, wanted to organise a volunteering opportunity for their staff at a local sports facility.
Turner Broadcasting, the company behind Cartoon Network and CNN, encourage staff to volunteer two days a year and on 18th September the LPFF was one of three projects that staff could choose to work for. “We make news and children’s programmes so it makes good sense for staff to improve a pavilion for kids and help tackle the general issue of lack of facilities for them,” said Nick Hart, head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Turner.
NCB and Turner Broadcasting staff worked tirelessly all day and painted all the changing rooms and hallway giving it a new lease of life.
Paul Baker, Operations Director of the Foundation said “We really appreciate the effort and enthusiasm of the volunteers and the difference the painting day has made to the pavilion is tremendous.”
