Female coaches celebrate success at LMPF Greenwich

FCD Level 1 success at LMPF

Female coaches in London have taken their first steps on the coaching ladder over October half term at the London Marathon Playing Fields Ground in Greenwich.

With funding from London Playing Fields Foundation via the Female Coach Development Programme and the London FA, twenty female coaches were able to access the course at a discounted rate.

The course ran over 4 days and was very intense with what needed to be covered, but the group worked tirelessly and gained their reward at the end, as all twenty candidates passed, which is a fantastic achievement.

With the opportunity for some of these women to progress onto the Female Coach Development Programme to support them through their Level 2 qualification and the chance for all of them to access new FA Awards such as the Age Appropriate course, things are looking up for the female game in London with the ever increasing number of female coaches.

Emma Barnes, Women’s & Girls FDO, South London, says ‘’ It is really encouraging to see this many females be successful on one course, and the feedback from the ladies has been really positive. There are plenty of opportunities out there for these ladies to develop with their coaching, and we will be looking to support them however we can’’
