CELEBRATING THE Girls’ Football Hub

The Hub is an innovative project aimed at helping girls new to football who might lack the confidence, technical ability and game experience to play on a regular basis.

It does this by delivering monthly age group football festivals where the emphasis is on a gentle introduction to competitive play, having fun, making new friends in a pressure-free female only environment.

Since the project’s launch in September 2024 over 1,200 girls have participated in 18 festivals and the numbers increase each month.

Alongside these festivals we delivered:

  • Six goalkeeping clinics for girls to build their confidence by improving their fundamental skills and
  • A FA female only referee course for 21 candidates.
  • A series of professional development sessions for female coaches intending to become team managers

A female coach who attended the CPD sessions said: “It’s a great initiative—welcoming, friendly, and educational. It brings together females who are passionate about football …creating a supportive community. The experience has boosted my confidence in coaching and increased my willingness to support my team in all areas—technical, physical, psychological, and social.”

Thanks to Oasis we can celebrate the role of Jamie and Matt in delivering this project.

“When I first arrived, I felt like I didn’t understand how you play, but now I get it. I was a bit nervous but now I’m not. It has given me more confidence and made me feel like I’ve got more energy.”
