A charter for
playing fields
in London

Become a Playing Fields Champion and join our campaign to urge the Greater London Authority, local authorities and sporting bodies to adopt a long-term plan to protect London’s playing fields.

More than just open space, London’s playing fields are places where people’s lives are improved through sport and physical activity. And for the gifted few, like England footballer Harry Kane who started out at Peter May Sports Centre in Walthamstow, they are where careers begin.

But accessing these life-changing opportunities is difficult. There’s too few playing fields and not everyone can access them. To change this, we need a long-term plan to protect and use them fully.’

Our Charter for Playing Fields in London calls on the Greater London Authority, local authorities and sporting bodies to adopt 12-point call to action that will provide long-term protection for these precious spaces. It advocates for a more strategic approach to protecting playing fields from local and central government.

READ THE CHARTER and add your name to our list of Playing Fields Champions to recognise the contribution playing fields make to improving lives.

Email us with your name and organisation and we will add you to our list. Thank you!
